The mini SMD (Surface-Mount Device) tact switch is a compact and efficient electronic component designed to provide tactile feedback in small and space-constrained electronic devices. With its reduced size and surface-mount design, this switch allows for easy integration into high-density printed circuit boards (PCBs) while maintaining exceptional reliability and performance. Despite its small form factor, the mini SMD tact switch is engineered to deliver consistent tactile feedback, making it ideal for applications requiring user input with precision and comfort.

The Mini SMD Tact Button 6x3.5mm is engineered for space-constrained electronic designs, merging ultra-compact dimensions (6mm length × 3.5mm width × typical 4mm height) with reliable tactile actuation—ideal for devices where PCB real estate is at a premium. As an SMD (Surface Mount Device) component, it supports automated reflow soldering (withstands 260℃ peak temperatures, compliant with IPC/JEDEC standards), enabling high-efficiency mass production for small-batch or large-scale electronics.

Constructed for durability and performance, its insulation housing uses heat-resistant LCP or PBT plastic (UL94 V-0 rated) to resist thermal stress during soldering and long-term use. The internal contacts, made of nickel-plated phosphor bronze, ensure low contact resistance (≤50mΩ) for stable signal/power transmission, while a precision metal dome delivers consistent tactile feedback (160–250gf actuation force, 0.2–0.3mm travel) —critical for confirming operation in devices where users can’t see the button (e.g., TWS earbud cases).

With a lifespan of 300,000–500,000 actuation cycles, it outperforms many miniaturized switches, handling frequent use in daily gadgets. Electrical ratings (5V DC, 100mA) suit low-power applications, while its IP40 rating protects against airborne particles in enclosed devices.

Key applications include smart wearables (fitness trackers, smartwatches), TWS earbuds, IoT sensors, portable medical devices (glucose monitors), and small home appliances (mini humidifiers). By eliminating the need for through-hole drilling, it simplifies PCB design, reduces board thickness, and supports dense component layouts—making it a go-to for modern miniaturized electronics prioritizing space efficiency and reliable operation.
