When selecting a metal switch, many buyers first pay attention to the size and appearance. These are important, but they are only part of the factor. The switching function, electrical rating, mounting method, protection level, and operating life can all affect whether the switch is suitable for the final product.

One of the first points to check is the mounting size. Metal push button switches are available in several common sizes, such as 12mm, 16mm, 19mm, and 22mm. The mounting hole needs to match the switch diameter, while the panel thickness also needs to be within the specified range. Checking these dimensions before ordering helps prevent installation problems, especially when the control panel has already been manufactured.

Momentary switches return to their original position when the button is released, making them suitable for start, reset, trigger, and similar functions. Latching switches remain in the selected position after pressing and are commonly used for ON/OFF control. Choosing between these two types depends on how the operator needs to control the equipment.

Buyers should compare the switch specifications with the actual circuit requirements instead of selecting a product based only on its appearance.
